Harley-Davidson UK e-zine

Welcome

Welcome to the July issue of the Harley-Davidson e-Zine.

This is always an exciting month for us with the launch of our new bikes and Model-Year 11 is no different.

We have the new Sportster® SuperLow™, the returning Softail® Deluxe and Electra Glide® Classic and four 2011 CVOs. We also have engine upgrades on the Touring range and ABS as standard on most Softail machines. Click here for an overview of the new motorcycles and upgrades that will be available.

New colours add an interesting dynamic to some of the existing motorcycles, including a White Hot Denim introduced on the XR1200X™ and VRCSCF V-Rod Muscle™ and Cool Blue Pearl for the XL1200N Nighster® and the FXDF Dyna® Fat Bob® to highlight just a few.

If you're looking to try any Harley-Davidson® motorcycle out for size, the online booking engine is available now and all year round on the Harley-Davidson website. Simply choose your road, and the Harley® that's right for you.

And don’t forget your Harley-Daivdson MotorClothes® to look good both on and off the road. However, you may need to be quick! Our new range of fashionwear – which will be exclusively available in Harley-Davidson dealers from August – got the thumbs up from a host of young celebrities this month at the famous T in the Park festival. Click here to find out more.

For the more safety conscious, the new MotorClothes® Illumination range of products have been developed – bringing both high visibility and safety together in a package. With ‘360° Enhanced Visibility’ – the latest generation of reflectivity from 3M™ Scotchlite™ – you can be five times more visible than in regular riding gear. This is exclusive to Harley-Davidson MotorClothes® in the motorsports industry and we’ve made the most of it, designing a complete outfit for both men and women in a range of stylish jackets, gloves and trousers. Visit your nearest authorised Harley-Davidson dealer for more information.

See you on the road,

Ignacio isusi

A BBC Radio Gloucestershire interview last week with Rolling Hills Chapter members Pat Tandy and Dee Hooper revealed that for female motorcyclists, “It’s got to be a Harley!”

The Anna King programme had been discussing male mid-life crises and its perceived links to motorcycle purchases earlier in the week and requested female experiences. Following a response from a lady Harley rider, Anna invited the two H.O.G.® members onto the show to discuss their riding experiences.

Having both passed their tests at 50 years old, Pat and Dee assured Anna that their choice to take a bike test and ride a Harley was a lifestyle choice based on now having more time for themselves. One of the women was even convinced to take up riding after her daughters bought her a H-D ride as a birthday gift.

Comfort, customisation, iconic bikes and the amazing Harley sound were all reasons that the women were encouraged to start riding and H.O.G. provided a support network for the women’s travel aspirations.

Their uniform of choice is jeans, a Harley leather jacket and an open faced helmet. With the introduction of the new Harley-Davidson Super Low, even more female riders are expected to be tempted into the iconic brand.
